Eve of Departure

Wow.  I can't believe that we are leaving tomorrow!  It's gone by so fast but we've experienced so much.  The last couple of days have been more free with time for experiencing Sweden's history.

On Saturday, we went to the Vasa Museum, the main feature of which is the 17th century warship that sunk on its maiden voyage but has since been recovered in a mostly original shape (you can read more about the Vasa here).  We also enjoyed a Swedish dinner with Tord and Martha Larsson and their family and spent more time fellowshipping and praying with them and for them.

Today, we went to New Life Church (which we visited on Wednesday) to worship.  It was fascinating to see how they ran their service (we had Fika in the middle of the service!) and to worship with people from all around the world.  We heard four different languages throughout the service (Swedish, English, French, and Mongolian).  It was a blessing to see what God is doing through that church (you can learn more here).  We also took a boat tour of Stockholm.  It was interesting to see the incredible range of architecture in the city, from buildings that date back to the middle ages to very modern apartments.

Please be praying for us as we are traveling home tomorrow.  Pray for safe travels and smooth transitions back into our regular lives.  Look forward to seeing and sharing with you all soon!

 Tait loves buses.
We really enjoyed the service at New Life Church, the whole service was translated into English/Swedish.
Seen in Stockholm, a band on horses.

We enjoyed a informational and beautiful boat tour around Stockholm.

We went our for a celebration dinner with Tord Larsson and his children.

We will be flying home tomorrow and would appreciate prayers for travel mercies and for a good adjustment once we arrive back home.

On the morning of the 7th we visited the Vasa Museum, this photo is of a small scale replica of the huge ship.
The Swedish strawberries are so delicious.

Delicious Swedish dinner with Tord and Martha and their children.
 We loved the festive decorations.

When we are wondering about Swedish history, Google usually has the answer.
We ended our time with the Larsson's singing some worship songs while Victoria, their daughter, played the keyboard.

June 6/Make Musik Stockholm

Our team was scattered around the festival working in different zones, so I don't really have any photos of our team from this day. But I thought you might enjoy seeing a little of what we got to experience. So much talent in one place!

June 5 Photos- Uppsala

I've finally had a little extra time to work on photos, here is a little bit from our day in Uppsala.

Make Music Stockholm

Hej!  As I mentioned briefly earlier in the week, we had an interesting opportunity pop up for today. June 6th is Sweden's National Day, and one feature of the day is a music festival called Make Music Stockholm.  While this is a secular event, the Moench's (who we met on Tuesday) invited us to volunteer for it as they are connected with a church that helps out with the event.  Madeline and her photography skills were the first to be recruited, but there was a need for more helpers so we all joined in.  Most of our team helped out with guiding the various bands to where they needed to go and assisting them in whatever way necessary.  It was a really cool way to experience the culture of Stockholm and enjoy the creative musical ability God has placed in so many people!

I can't believe we only have two full days remaining!  Please pray for us that we would not become complacent but that we would continue to be a light to those around us.
